Hydro-Engineering, Inc. at a Glance...“Hydro-Engineering, Inc. started out three years ago with five employees including myself and a contract with Woma Corporation and Woma GMBH as the exclusive Gulf Coast distributor and manufacturer of all units sold in the United States with an office and manufacturing facility in Houston,” says Darrell Saha, President.

Saha adds, “Now some three years later, we have doubled our staff to ten full time employees. We have solidified our relationship with Woma Corp. and have jointly established Sales, Service, and Rental outlets in Tampa, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; Mobile, Alabama; Charleston, North Carolina; and Edison, New Jersey.”

Thanks to our staff...He further adds, “When success and growth are dominating the landscape of an organization (HEI) it is important to analyze the situation and determine exactly what key elements contributed to this success.”

“In doing this, I found many contributing factors, many internal and many external to HEI. However, I would like to personally acknowledge and thank, what I call, the big four: our employees; our business partner, Woma Corp/GMBH; our suppliers, and of course our customers,” says Saha.

Saha continues, “I must point out the fact that every one of these four player groups make up our complete corporate force. Without any one of them, we could not have gotten HEI off of the ground.”

“Our original core of employees have gone beyond the call of duty,” he says. “They have worked long hours and have compiled a list of completed projects over the past three years that only these five people could have done,” Saha adds.

Saha says, “George Tade has done a tremendous job as Production Manager, overseeing all aspects of production, field services, rental fleet maintenance, logistics, and maintenance supervisor.”

“Susan Sanders has put her 20+ years experience to work in single handedly managing our administrative staff as well as building and maintaining our inside sales department,” continues Saha.

“Ghassan Khalil has put his Master's degree to task in practical application and has proven to be invaluable to HEI’s engineering efforts,” Saha says.

He further adds, “Eve Rosnovsky brought her 20+ years experience to HEI as our Purchasing Manager. She was able to establish an immediate relationship with valued suppliers that has progressively gotten better over the years.”

New Products and Services...Saha continues, “Things continue to grow rapidly. We are proud to say that we have been gearing up several new ventures that I feel will solidify HEI’s position in the Water Jetting manufacturing and rental industry.”

“First, we will be introducing some new and innovative tools for UHP Surface Preparation Applications,” states Saha. “I would very much like to elaborate, but patent law prevents that at this time.”

He continues, “Secondly, we have made an effort over the past three years to experiment with the idea of renting HP and UHP units in the Gulf Coast area.”

“The success of these six rental units in this market sector has inspired me to readily go after this market,” he continues. “We have decided to invest approximately $1.5 million in a brand new state of the art rental fleet that will focus on UHP (40K psi) and high HP (400 HP) 10K and 20K units, along with a few standard 200 HP 10K, 20K, and 30K units. In all, we will have 21 UHP and HP units and a trailer mounted shell side machine.” He adds, “The real good news is that we will have those units available with a complete compliment of hoses and accessories, not to mention FOB points in Houston, New Orleans, Mobile, Charleston, Tampa, and Edison…and very soon on the West Coast.”

New additions to the team...Saha continues, “In order to handle this expansion, HEI has decided to add a few new key employees.”

David Steffen has joined HEI as Vice President of Operations,” states Saha. David brings 16 years of experience in HP and UHP manufacturing from Jetstream (Federal Signal). He will be responsible for all cost accounting, production management, inventory control, purchasing, rental fleet, preventative maintenance, logistics, field services, as well as other executive management duties.” Saha adds.

“HEI has also added Scott McClure to provide added support to our rental fleet as a field service technician and logistics manager. Scott is also a superb painter, which will bring further added value to our finished product,” states Saha.

Saha adds, “Dan Williams has joined the sales team at HEI as the Gulf Coast Regional Sales Manager. He was with Partek (currently Gardner Denver) for 13 years and most recently with NLB for 17 years.” Saha further states, “Dan brings over 25 years experience and expertise in the Water Jetting Industry with him to Hydro-Engineering, Inc.”

“We are proud to say that collectively we have well over 100 years of experience in the HP and UHP Water Jetting Industry, “says Saha.

Saha states, “HEI established a contractual relationship with Woma Corp. and Woma GMBH in July 2000. Originally, HEI

was contracted to handle the sales and marketing efforts in the Gulf Coast Area, as well as package units and robotic accessories for this territory. HEI was also granted the exclusive rights to package all units and robotic equipment for this territory. Furthermore, HEI has also been engaged by Woma to exclusively market and sell equipment to the West Coast of the USA, as well as package all equipment for Canada.”

“I want our customers, our suppliers, our employees, and most of all, every employee and officer of Woma Corp. and Woma GMBH to know that HEI is a product of their unwavering support over the years,” states Saha. He adds, “Without going into great detail, I want to personally thank Woma for their support in providing fully trained employee assistance on the floor at HEI, for a complete fleet of demonstration and rental equipment at HEI, and for providing a full supply of spare parts at HEI to support our customers. HEI thanks you for making us a part of the Woma network, and we remain forever indebted to you for your gracious support. We look forward to continuing this mutually beneficial relationship for many years to come.”

Saha concludes, “To each and every one of our customers and suppliers (our business partners), thank you for having the knowledge, insight, and courage to step out of the box and put your faith, trust, and money on the line to partner with someone new. It is easy to stay with what is known, It is innovative and courageous to try something new. That is what you have done...try something new, HEI. And, sometimes, as in this case, you are pleasantly surprised to find this innovative thinking results in gaining a new business partner with equally innovative ideas and products. Thanks for your support.”

The ML-3000 high production coatings preparation and removal system has revolutionized large scale coatings preparation and removal. Each unit features a variety of cost saving features such as: 15 inch coatings removal path with an adjustable full floating head; two high-speed air driven UHP rotating carrier heads rated for 40,000 PSI operation provide unmatched coatings removal performance; adjustable stand of distance for sweeps or total coatings removal; no special equipment is required to operate the ML-3000, the units are designed to be mounted to virtually any standard man- lift unit capable of handling a 150 pound side load; and the units have vacuum capability for complete recovery of waste water and paint debris.

VacuCrawler

Model Lizard 3000-1-PN

The VacuCrawler is specially designed for semi-automatic cleaning/stripping of vertical surfaces such as ship hulls, storage tanks, and large structures. It is a self-propelled cleaning system which is adhered onto the surface via vacuum. The advantages of the VacuCrawler are: a special floating seal that ensures minimal wear and reduced energy requirements due to its low friction design, the operating speed is adjustable via air pressure and flow rate, all parts subjected to water pressure are made of high-tensile stainless steel, and it is pneumatically controlled.
